Repair or Replace Bent Straps

Always begin by first decompressing the main spring to prevent accidents. The first step in correcting bent straps is to twist off the main spring and relieve the pressure on the outer sleeve.

Slotted

Cap

Start by twisting the spring backwards until it clicks into the diagonal opening in the cap.

Unwind

Spring

With the spring end in the cap groove, turn the spring in the opposite direction to unscrew it over the cap until the base of the spring passes the yellow indicator.

restore

Shape

With the main spring decompressed the straps can now be safely worked back into a correct shape. Pliers can be used , but if the straps are broken or badly kinked they will need to be replaced.

If the straps are too badly bent or broken they will need to be replaced with new. Strap cartridges are quick and easy to restore.
